I am always searching for fast and easy recipes for dinner. I enjoy cooking, but I don't always have time to prepare a meal that takes hours to cook.
I recently accidentally purchased the Knorr chicken flavored broccoli and rice packet instead of the chicken flavored broccoli and pasta packet. Because I hate to waste food, I decided to play around with the rice packet to see if I could create a quick meal.
As with any premixed packet of food, the ingredients are not fresh and it is only chicken flavored. There is a small amount of broccoli in the packet, but the vegetable itself tastes good. As it is, it would make a delicious lunch or side. However, after adding chicken, it becomes suitable to serve as an entree.
I made it for lunch the first time, but have served it several times since
as our evening meal. It only takes about 15 minutes to throw together
and cook. It is the perfect warm meal at the end of a hard day.
Plus, it is actually very tasty!

Swanson canned chicken is a fast way to add cooked chicken to any

I've not tried the Knorrs chicken broccoli & rice sides, but have done something similar with the chicken broccoli & pasta sides. Although I do love rice dishes, so will have to give this a try. I am cooking a turkey this weekend for a family gathering and I bet this chicken broccoli & rice side would lend itself very well to a leftover turkey meal. Thanks for the the helpful suggestions, Sylvestermouse.
ReplyDeleteI use the Knorr Hollandaise mix all the time and love it. I guess I will need to expand and try some of the other Knorr mixes. Thanks for the recommend.
ReplyDeleteI have not tried the Knorr chicken flavored broccoli and rice packet but it sounds a really quick and easy meal to make. I can see this would be very useful especially if you are short on time or do not feel up to cooking a meal that takes a while to prepare.Thank you for your review and recommendation!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an excellent quite meal - I haven't purchased Knorr products in a while - you've convinced me to give this a try - I'm always looking for something fast and easy - yum!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a good quick meal and as you said it's tasty and that to me is the most important. So many meals that are easy are like cardboard when you get into it. So thank you for this quick and tasty recipe!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was much younger I used to buy Knorr soup and sauce mixes often, preferring their quality and flavor to those of similar mixes from (at the the time) better known brands. It’s good to know that Knorr still makes high quality mixes.
ReplyDeleteLike you, I enjoy cooking but also appreciate having some good mixes in my pantry for when I’m short on time (or energy), ones that I can personalize easily and quickly with one or two additions of my own, like the water-packed, canned, premium chicken breast chunks you added to this Knorr chicken flavored broccoli rice side dish to turn it into a satisfying dinner meal.
Thanks for the recommendation and recipe!
Thanks for the review! I have eyeballed this package so many times in the grocery store and wondered ...!
ReplyDeleteI like quick and easy, Fran uses the Knorr soup packets to make dips. She mixes it with sour cream, mayo and spinach, it makes an amazing spinach dip. Seems like you created a winner here, thanks for the recipe.
