Did You Know That January is Hot Tea Month?

I thought I'd review our love of tea here on Review This Reviews and also share with you the teas I enjoy during my day.

Enjoying a cup of hot tea as January is hot tea month
The tea pictured is Arbonne's Detox Tea, click this link to purchase.

The authors on this site do seem to enjoy their hot tea and you can check out Cynthia's hot tea article to learn more about the different types of tea available.

I used to enjoy several mugs of black tea a day and an occasional green tea, but these days I enjoy herbal teas - which tea lovers will (correctly) say aren't actually teas, but herbal infusions.

Which teas do you prefer to drink?   I would love to know in the comments.

My Daily Teas - Whatever Month of the Year it is!

I start every day with a mug of Arbonne detox tea which I absolutely love.

If I'm meeting a friend during the day I will choose peppermint tea as my drink of choice as it's available at most cafes these days.

I used to have peppermint tea every afternoon, but these days I only drink it occasionally as January in Queensland, Australia (where I live) is pretty hot so I tend to drink a fizz stick instead.  Sometimes I do feel like a hot drink and I will switch between my usual peppermint or a Twining's Spearmint and Peppermint tea..

Other teas I may have are from Arbonne's holiday tea range (I'll probably enjoy them more in our winter months though).

At night I enjoy Twining's Chamomile, Honey & Vanilla tea.   You may have noticed that I am partial to Twining's teas, my husband even brought me a couple of their cold infuse teas to try, but this is hot tea month so we'll talk about them on another article.

More Tea Please!

Let's have a look at what some of the teas our other Review This contributors enjoy:

Cynthia reviews Aveda Comforting Tea which sounds absolutely delicious.
Barb enjoys Lifestyle Awareness teas and reviews a couple of them for us - Immunity Now & Serene Slumber.

Of course you also need to be able to make tea which brings us to Barb's Tea Kettle review.

I have written a review on gift ideas for tea lovers which enjoys some gorgeous tea pots and fun tea infusers, check that out here - Best Gifts for Tea Lovers.

So if you're not a tea drinker already, why not try a few different ones this January in honour of Hot Tea Month?   If you do (and I hope you do) then be sure to come back and let us know what ones you've enjoyed.

Of course there's one thing any cup of tea is good with and that's a great book!

  1. I definitely enjoy a wide assortment of different tea varieties. Like you, I often opt for herbal tea, but I do love oolong tea too. Thanks you for mentioning my tea reviews. As you said, January is National Tea Month, but everyday is a good day for tea in my opinion.

    1. I still haven't tried oolong, I will remedy that this winter!

  2. We are having an especially brutal, bone-chilling winter here in the high country of Colorado. I have a feeling I'll be drinking more tea than usual. One of my favorite hot drinks is a lemon ginger herbal tea (or infusion, as you say). Delicious! I also love a hot Chai tea. Those spices are so heavenly. I am thinking of all of you there in Australia with a breaking heart. Stay safe! We care.

    1. Lemon and ginger are always a great combination. Arbonne released a limited edition holiday tin of teas a few months ago which included a spiced Chai which is the first time I've actually tried a Chai tea and it's certainly delicious.
Thanks for the kind thoughts, we're safe where we live at the moment although we are aware that we're only halfway through the fire season.

  3. I've been drinking an herbal tea supplement from Lifestyle Awareness called White Tea Wellness. I read it is supposed to help with weight loss (my January goal... LOL). Don't know about that yet, but I continue to drink it because it tastes so very good! :)

    1. I believe white tea is also supposed to help your immunity which is always a good thing. I haven't seen that brand down here, but I know that Barb has recommended some of them in the past so I will keep an eye out.

  4. I enjoy many different teas, green, black, white, and herbal. I like to mix them up. My preferred morning tea is a mixture of Ambiance Honey, Lemon, Ginseng and Celestial Seasonings Honey, Lemon Ginseng green teas, with a bit of white tea in the Celestial Seasonings brand. There are also some Bigelow teas I use regularly. Thank you for giving me an idea for my next review. I was stuck.

    1. I haven't heard of Bigelow teas, but Celestial Seasonings were one of the first brands of herbal teas I became aware of back in the late 80s when I started working in a health store. I loved their Red Zinger tea then, must see if it's still available.

  5. I love tea, but can only drink it iced. Not sure why I can't drink hot tea or hot coffee. Strange. Anyway, I usually drink Earl Grey but I've been thinking about trying a peppermint. Fun to know that it is hot tea month. Maybe I'll get brave and try some teas I haven't tried yet.

    1. We're opposites! For years I couldn't drink iced tea as it just seemed wrong LOL, I do enjoy both now but it took me 40 years.

  6. You're actually getting me to crave tea right now. I haven't heard of a few you listed here, you've got my curiosity up about them lol. I have a cupboard of herbal teas as well. I to was into peppermint for a while but have recently switched to, get this, regular tea lol. I've been putting cinnamon and unsweetened cocoa in my tea, with stevia sweetener and yum!

  7. I can't imagine cocoa in regular tea, but I do know a few people who use cinnamon.

  9. Oh Lou, I am a bonifide Coffee drinker. Teas are just not to my taste. Or let me be more specific, black and green teas are not my favorites. I do enjoy the odd cup of fruit teas or infusions but they are rather limited. I am trying to cut down on my coffee consumption, so maybe I should try some of the peppermint teas instead.

    1. Well you'll be pleased to know that there is a month that celebrates coffee - August is National Coffee Month.
