April 9th is National Unicorn Day!
On April 9 we celebrate a popular mythical creature loved by children (and many adults, even if they don't admit it). Why? Because it's a beautiful creature, and because it is a symbol of happiness, fantasy and wonder.
This icon of color is magical and often makes its appearance on birthday cakes and children's clothing, in books and music and even as plush animals.
Unicorns are horse-like and pictured as white with a single horn. The Rainbow Unicorn is white with a rainbow-colored mane and tail.
The origin of National Unicorn Day is unknown, but it is enchanting to celebrate these majestic creatures and remember how much more fun life can be when we let a little magic in sometimes.

*National Unicorn Day Review written by Wednesday Elf
Oh I don't mind admitting that I love Unicorns! They are a part of my fantasies and I can't think of a better way to enjoy them than to color my world with these lovely creatures. My granddaughters loved them too. I hope they never lose the magic that is involved with believing in these mythical, beautiful, magical creatures. Thanks Pat Austin!
ReplyDeleteI think everyone loves unicorns, Olivia. I couldn't resist reviewing Unicorn Day!
DeleteI love unicorns! As a matter of fact, I am currently drinking a cup of coffee from my unicorn mug that my husband gave me. I even asked for a unicorn piggy bank for Christmas last year, which my parents gave me. And, I have a fabulous plush unicorn that my husband won for me at the fair a few years ago. I'm not sure why these creatures appeal to me so much, but they do. I especially love the ones with rainbow colored accents. I might just NEED some unicorn pjs next! While I wholeheartedly embrace Unicorn day, I do believe every day is a good day for a unicorn!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely are a unicorn lover, Mouse. Today is a perfect day for you! :)
DeleteIs it wrong to want a pet unicorn? Lol. Those pajamas and the unicorn stuffed animal are super cute. What a great gift idea for a special occasion for a little girl. I have one in mind :)
ReplyDeleteA pet unicorn would be fun to have, Barbara. :)
DeleteI love the idea of a special holiday to celebrate unicorns! Who among us couldn’t use a bit more magic, fantasy and rainbows in our lives? That sweet crocheted rainbow unicorn has captured my heart, and I would love to have a pair of unicorn pajamas. That unicorn-themed coloring book is the perfect outlet for kids (or adults!) to let their colorful imaginations run wild. Thanks so much for this delightful celebration of the magical, mythical unicorn!
ReplyDeleteUnicorns spell magic for sure, Margaret. Thanks for your visit.
