If you live in North America, you know that a cupcake is a single-serving sized cake with frosting and decorations. If you live in other parts of the world, like the United Kingdom, you may know these little cakes as fairy cakes or by some other name.
Whatever you call them, they are sure to hold a fond place in your memories. You may have enjoyed them at home, at school or at Grandma's house when you were a child. They have been trendy for at least the last decade, when specialty shops started popping up in New York City and Los Angeles and eventually throughout North America.Cupcakes are popular because they are so cute and because every one can have their own. The choice is up to you and you can pick your favorite flavor combination. My local shop has a rotating variety that includes basic flavors like vanilla and chocolate but more unusual combinations like maple cinnamon, pina colada, oreo and peanut butter. I would confess to a fondness for any choice that includes coconut but I digress.
If you are a big cupcake fan and baker, you need a cupcake apron. On this page, I will review two of the best cupcake aprons that I could find. I am sure there is one here for you or for the cupcake baker in your life whether you (or they) prefer an apron that is pretty, practical or personalized.

That is what I call, baking your cupcakes in style. Very nice selection Brenda. any one of these would be a perfect gift for the baker in your life.
ReplyDeleteI've been loving your apron series, Brenda. Why not have an apron for any season and for many occasions. A complete apron wardrobe would include all of the stylish and fun ones you have been featuring in this series.
ReplyDeleteFairy cakes! I love that!!! I have never heard the term before and I much prefer it to cupcakes. I also love that pink apron you featured. I was thinking how much I "need" that apron. (not really, but...) I do think it is beautiful and would be fun to wear. I also like the idea of a customized apron. Fun in the kitchen for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love the name "fairy cakes," too! What a great way to make the experience of making, serving, eating and sharing cupcakes just a bit more magical. :) Like Sylvestermouse, I don't "need" the featured light pink cupcakes apron as a matter of practicality, but that doesn't stop it from calling my name, lol. I can hear its siren song as I write this! The personalized apron is great, too, and would make a wonderful gift for someone who loves baking. Thanks for another great apron review!
ReplyDeleteBrenda, these cupcake aprons are just too cute. What a great gift for that person who loves to bake! I happen to love the name Fairy Cakes as well. Much nicer than cupcakes IMHO!
ReplyDeleteA seriously unique and fun gift for the avid baker! That first cupcake apron is fantastic - so whimsical. I can see this as a housewarming gift for those who love to bake, or for your local baker to say thanks for all their delicious creations. I can't believe it, but I actually know someone who would love (and giggle) at this gift.
ReplyDeleteYes we always knew them as fairy cakes and when I was a child my Mum always used to put little "wings" on them! I especially love the pink retro cupcake apron- it is gorgeous and really baking in some style! The personalised apron is lovely as well. What a lovely gift these aprons would make for keen bakers.
