A Gift Wrapped Christmas Movie Review

A Gift Wrapped Christmas Movie Review
Most people would say that a review of "A Gift Wrapped Christmas" could be summed up with one word.  I can hear the men in the house saying words like cheesy, sappy, predictable, mush, but the women would say, adorable, sweet, loving, and romantic.  While I doubt very many males would sit down and watch this movie, I do think women will enjoy it.  It provides a nice escape for 87 minutes.

Before I watched this movie, I was not familiar with any of the actors, but I thought I would give it a chance. I was seeking a Christmas movie that didn't require me to be heavily invested. Because I was physically tired and emotional exhausted, I simply wanted a reprieve from reality for just a bit.  That is exactly what I got with A Gift Wrapped Christmas!

A Gift Wrapped Christmas Movie Synopsis

A GIFT WRAPPED CHRISTMASCheck PriceGwen is a personal shopper that has a unique talent.  She knows what style and colors would look best on her clients at first glance. Matching their personalities requires more individual interaction, but her vivacious personality endears her to them quickly.

When she is assigned as Charlie Baker's personal shopper, he is not particularly happy with her clothing choices for him.  However, he learns to trust her opinions and gift selections for the people on his Christmas shopping list.

Because Gwen researches the gift recipient, she is able to buy relevant gifts that are perfect for everyone.  When Charlie reaps the benefits from the gifts she has sent to others in his name, he begins to reconsider his initial opinion of Gwen and her advice.

In addition to Gwen's ability to delight Charlie's associates with gifts, she also seems to have a knack for making his 8 year old son happy.

Even though both Charlie and his son, Owen, enjoy having Gwen around, his girlfriend, Victoria, does not.  As a matter of fact, Victoria has her own plans for a special Christmas gift she expects Charlie to give to her.  She is happy to give Gwen a precise description of the engagement ring she should purchase for Charley to give to her.  However, Gwen is not too happy to take her instructions from Victoria.

I'm sure you can imagine what happens next, but imagining is not as much fun as watching.  I recommend you find a hour this holiday season to gift yourself with the time to watch this delightful Christmas movie.  It will put a lovely smile back on your own face!

  1. This sounds fun. I think lots of Christmas movies are described as cheesy, sappy, or predictable. It seems to be the recipe for success for this genre for the very reasons you mentioned. People need an escape sometimes from all of the rush and stress of the holidays. I like how you have written this review. Merry Christmas!

  2. Awww, I like the movie already just from your description. It sounds like just a delightful way to relax during this busy Christmas season. Didn't they used to call these sweet movies guys won't watch 'chick flicks'? Sounds good to me. :>

  3. Thanks for the review. I too like to watch a Christmas movie for pure relaxation and escapism after a long day. Since I only like them in small doses I truly don't understand the women who watch one after the other all season long. For this reason I love your review...it helps me to pick out one that I might enjoy! Thanks.

  4. Even those of us who love Christmas can also sometimes feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and stressed out from the holiday shopping, gift wrapping & mailing, card writing, baking, decorating, etc. Some years, there can be unrelated circumstances that can make it harder to get into the Christmas spirit. When life throws us a curveball, such as the loss or sudden illness of a loved one, losing one’s job, etc., escaping into a movie that doesn’t demand much of us and can be counted on to have a happy ending can be just what the doctor ordered. Thanks so much for finding and sharing this one with us. ❤️

  5. I completely respect your need to escape with a light Christmas movie. That's exactly the reason I watch them. I've been watching many lately. In fact, they normally play in the background at night in my office as I work. The simple, clean, non-confrontational aspects to these movies give the mind a break from all the constant negative barrage coming at us; although we're pretty good in our home at keeping the negative energy out. What's wrong with enjoying something light and fun for a change. When I need a 'get the bad guys movie', I'll watch The Equalizer, lol, really! Everytime I watch a Hallmark movie I think of you because of all your reviews. I'm trying to remember if I've seen this one, I'm sure I must have. Thanks again for this one.

  6. Oh I know how you feel! I need a reprieve from my life right now too. Over the next few days I'm hoping to have those 87 minutes to just let my mind wander into someone else's life and rest my own. This sounds like a delightful movie and I will definitely make time to see it. Thanks for a great rest inducing movie recommendation!

  8. I start my day watching a gift wrapped Christmas, one question; why would a boss of personal shoppers give a 8-9 mo pregnant woman her best client? Also the boy is more like 5 than 7. It still love it
