The Guilty Book Review

In The Guilty, David Baldacci takes you on a non-stop, action packed adventure in Cantrell, Mississippi.

When a top ranked government assassin is unable to perform his job, he heads home to deal with unresolved issues from his past and winds up embroiled in his father's murder investigation.

Making matters more difficult is the fact that he has been estranged from his father for 20 years. Talking to his father is no easier now than it was when he was a lad and his father's life being on the line does not seem to make a difference. His father wants no help from his son and is resigned to his own personal situation.

Robie, however, refuses to let his father take the murder charge without fighting back. His efforts, combined with those of an equally skilled coworker, to save his dad eventually help him start a proper relationship with his father. Better late than never, as they say. It turns out that his book is about murder and about family.

I was amazed at the action that took place in the first half of the book, which meant that there was lots more still to come. It was fast paced and hard to put down.

Yes, The Guilty is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me. Read more about it or order your copy from Amazon by clicking right here.

As it turns out, The Guilty is number four in a series called Will Robie and David Baldacci has written many other books, which I look forward to checking out. It is always great to find a new author that you enjoy and if all of Baldacci's books are as good as this one, I will have some more sleep deprived nights ahead.

  1. Thanks SO much for your review of 'The Guilty', Brenda. I have seen author David Baldacci's name on books for quite awhile, but have never read any. Now that you have introduced me to a 'series', I can't wait to check him out. I love finding a series character I like and following him/her through a whole collection of books.

    1. You are welcome, Elf. I was excited to find a new series. Be cautioned, and I do not think I said it in my text I will fix that now, that The Guilty is number 4 in the Will Robie series.

    2. Ah, thanks, Brenda. Good to know where this book is in the series. I will check out the Will Robie series and begin with #1 in the series. Love reading my way through a new series as I've discovered you become quite attached to the main character and can't wait to see what he does next. :)

    3. You are welcome. Thanks for sharing my post by the way & have a great day!

  2. I absolutely love Review This and the Contributors who are constantly introducing me to new authors and great books! This is yet another book that I would not normally select on my own, but now I know I need to add it to my kindle. The authors name is familiar to me. I'm pretty sure my dad and my husband have read some David Baldacci books, but I have not, yet! Thanks for awesome review. Sounds like several of us may have some sleep deprived nights in our near future.

    1. Yes, it is one that I would not have chosen either but, as is often the case, this was 'required' reading for my book club, LOL. The 'forced' reading also makes me take time to read for pleasure. I have learned to write the book review as soon as I finish the book and then I am prepared for our group blog when a post is needed.

  3. This is going directly to my to-read list. I need fast-paced and hard-to-put-down books. Otherwise, I fall asleep within the first few pages. This sound right up my alley.
