Which Quote Best Describes You?

Quotes for the Wall Here
In the New World of 140 Characters, Quotes are Fast Becoming a Way of Making a Quick Statement About Ourselves; Which Quote Best Describes You?
It's going to be difficult to select just one quote that best describes yourself! Most of us have numerous quotations in our repertoire that resonate with us.
Certainly, as we grow older, a saying that meant something to us once at 20 years old may not hold the same meaning for us at 40. However, having noted all of these obstacles, take a gander at the quotations I've put together below to see if there's one particular quote that means more than an other, at this time in your life.
Of course, I've only focused on a handful of quotations to feature, but don't let that stop you
from adding the saying that you personally like best in the comments section.

Does A Quote about Success and What it Means to
Succeed Hit Home With You?

Are you the sort of person who connects with phrases and quotations about success versus failure? There are a number of them to choose from including this extremely popular quote by Michael Jordan.
"I have missed over 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. - Michael Jordan"
This particular saying says a lot about perseverance...taking 9000 shots, losing 300 games...and this is why he succeeded. Are you the sort of person who's just stubborn enough to keep going until you make it? Do you look at the failures in your life as merely temporary obstacles? Maybe you're motivated by failure?
A few of my own personal favorite quotes are:
  1.  This too shall pass
  2.  Sometimes God calms the storm, but sometimes God lets the storm rage, and calms his child
Some people find it difficult to cope with obstacles and failures; how about you? Do you believe that anything is possible if you just put your mind to it? There are a lot of questions here aren't there? Go ahead, offer up your thoughts.

Unique Wall Decorating Idea for Washrooms!

The Washroom Quote We Featured

The Twitter Principle - I call these 'Mom's Visual Tweets'

A few years ago we updated our main washroom, and one of the accessory items I wanted to place on the wall was a quotation that didn't relate to the room itself.
Typical washroom quotes normally involve something about brushing your teeth or maybe soaking in the tub. However, you don't have to limit your choices. You can easily select words normally reserved for a bedroom, kitchen, living room or office.
The main reason I elected to go this route, is that it's the one room I know I'll have the kids undivided attention! I'm using what I call 'The Twitter Principle' - I call these Mom's Visual Tweets. Especially since some of my boys are men now, reading a short profound message is much more effective than mom (a.k.a ME) blurting out one liners! Not to mention, that short quotes qualify as NOT too-much-information!

I've also placed quotes on the fridge for the family to read, but since our washroom was recently updated, I used a small space on the wall to feature this lovely message:

Our Washroom with Wall Quote - Wall Quotes
However, don't feel you have to be limited to being profound and deep with your word choices; you can also choose fun quotes, especially if the washroom is deemed a 'kid space' or you can have a quote personalized, and simply select your own words.
The above photo shows the canvas quote I put on our own washroom wall as well as a photo that shows you how I used a small section of wall to feature it. You can see that you don't need a lot of  wall area to find a space for a quote.

Reading and gathering quotes and sayings is one of my favorite hobbies, so much so, that I've created quite an extensive pinterest board about quotes:

Mom's Visual Tweets, How to be Heard Without TALKING

One of Mom's Visual Tweets! - Wall Quote on Amazon
Yep, I've personally tagged wall quotes in our home with the title and purpose...'Mom's Visual Tweets'

Mom's Review of Wall Quotes and Their Intended Purpose!
My first child was born in 1986 and my last child came into our life in the year 2000. Watching the world change so quickly has been an incredible, almost shocking, ride. I've been holding onto the railings for a long time, so, yah, quotes prevent me from going postal. Fact.
Understatement coming....parenting today is challenging. There's too many outside forces coming at our children; products, technology...more stuff...more things...more useless crap, even more crap that's eventually going to become useless and rinse and repeat! Quite frankly, too much 'stuff' and too many 'things' make mom a big grump, and maybe a tad nutz.
Most of my boys are young men now, but I'm sure other parents can attest to the fact that parenting never ends, and I do mean NEVER. As the mom of 4 boys, it's hard to deliver life tips and messages without getting that 'hurry up, yah yah, glazed over look' from your kids-slash-young men.
So, to solve this dilemma, I decided to use wall quotes as well as hand written quotes to feature in our home.
Instead of Deciding to beat the 140 Character-Attention-Span-Syndrome, I Decided to Join It
By using wall words, sporadically through the house, I'm able to send a positive life message to the

boys (and myself). Oh yah, the quotes get eye-rolled. But tough bananas, like Martina McBride said in her song, I Do It Anyway.
I haven't just purchased wall quotes, I've also hand written them and put them on the fridge.

Unfortunately the fridge started to look like a hippie wall from the '60's, so I've since transferred most of them to a binder.

The binder sits ready for the kids to read..I've yet to see them open it. I should stuff some cash in it - in 10 years check it, bet the money will still be there.
But I don't get discouraged. Not me. Nope. I'm going subliminal.
I just keep rotating them from the binder to the fridge, where one always sits in full view: I have to keep that puppy up for a longgggg time, cause it's usually a month before they notice 'a quote change'.
For the family, I particularly love quotes about the mind, about our thoughts, and how "we become what we think about" - 'control your thinking, control your life'. <---I'm hoping to control that thought so it sinks in.
I say, don't let the eye rolls discourage you, get those 'Visual Tweets' up! They eye-roll this Mom til the cows come home and it makes no difference, actually motivates me to look for more. Big mistake. Huge. In fact, I have a continuing series of mom's messages through song here! They'll appreciate it when I bite the big one; nobody puts Mom in a corner.

Sometimes it is really hard to find the right Gift!

I'm sure we have all been in that position, where someone we care for and we've known for a long time, has a birthday or special occasion and we are looking for that perfect gift!

No, I'm not talking about a gift that is going to put you in the poor house, or something extravagant that shows everyone how magnanimous you are,  I'm talking about that gift that both the giver and the receiver are going to look at each other, and without words, say, "This is the most perfect gift, ever!"

I have one of these gifts in my possession.  Every time I get down or the whimsy fairy comes out, when the melancholy and uncertainy seems to take over my life, I will gather my arms around my middle, find my "safe" spot and after some time in thought, will pull out the words that will undoubtedly bring me back out of my "funk" and set me on the road to right, again.

What makes this book so special?

I first came across this book when I was a teenager, full of angst and not really sure of my place in the world.  I can remember feeling like the world was a quagmire and I was sinking..........One of my teachers understood where I was and rescued me with the help of some of the most profound words ever spoken or written.  It has become my lifeline!  Especially when things are in control and sometimes when they are out of control, I know I can find the words to help me through.  One thing is certain, the words contained in this book will help many people, through many periods of their lives, just having the words available there and opened, to read,  in a moment of uncertainty.

That is what I call a gift!  It will last for a long, long time without gathering too much dust.  It will never be too big or too small, it won't wear out and it will be meaningful all through life.  It is one of my favorite gifts to give, especially when I love the person who is the receiver.  It will not only give when given, but will come back to give again and again.

Please let me introduce you to The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

This copy of my book, is the one that I like to give as a gift.  It is a beautiful book and the pages feel wonderful under your fingers.  The ecru paper is thick and can stand being handled.  I love the fact that when I am done pondering the words,  the book slips into it's cover and is safe again, until I need it's words to soothe my troubled spirit.

The other gift that goes hand in hand with this one is the Desiderata !

I love this beautifully done written in calligraphy poster.  Framed it will become a lovely gift that makes everyone who reads it feel special.   If this one doesn't fit your style, there are many others available.  The words are the same and will resonate with the reader regardless of the style of poster.
For anyone who is needing a little reaffirmation, these two choices for gifts, will  give more than anyone ever expected.  And hopefully, these will be the gifts that becomes a favorite with that person for a long, long time, delivering a smile over and over again through life.

You are a child of the Universe, pass it on to someone you love too!
