Three Wiser Men And A Boy Hallmark Movie Review

Hallmark's Three Wiser Men And A Boy is a sequel to Hallmark's very successful Three Wiser Men And A Baby in 2022. The original was the most watched Hallmark movie in 2022 and fans were eagerly awaiting the sequel.

Time fast forwards five years from the end of the original movie; hence, 'and a baby' becomes 'and a boy'.  In the original movie, three brothers with the help of their mother take on caring for an abandoned newborn during the holidays. Comedy prevails as the bachelor brothers accept their mission with limited skills. In the interim between original and sequel, the baby is a member of the family.

Three Wiser Men Review

The school Christmas musical plays a pivotal role in the storyline as the brothers volunteer their talents to save the musical the Hallmark way!

The Hallmark A Team

Hallmark fans will immediately recognize the three stars: Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell and Tyler Hynes. Each are Hallmark favorite actors who are on the top of the list of popular Hallmark films. Hallmark star Kimberly Sustad makes a small cameo as her contribution to this film is as a writer.

Margaret Colin plays the mother of the three brothers and is a welcome addition with comedic flair and a seasoned pro of film and television.

The Chemistry

The chemistry between the three brothers and Colin as the mother definitely shines in this movie. Each brother has a definite and different personality lane, but it is the chemistry between all which helps ensure a successful Hallmark movie.  The storyline with the mothers' boyfriend and his interactions with the brothers and the musical was not particularly believable, but the great chemistry between the rest of the cast overshadows the minor boyfriend storyline.

The Writers

The same team which wrote Three Wiser Men And A Baby (who coincidentally happen to be on the Hallmark A team actor list) also wrote Three Wiser Men And A Boy. Paul Campbell stars in both movies and Kimberly Sustad has a supporting role in each movie also. Russell Hainline also cowrote the second movie.

Which Movie Is Better?

That is the inevitable question! Which Do You Prefer? Does It Matter?

Both movies are very enjoyable and worth bookmarking for the holidays. The storylines are not apples to apples. The first movie does have the benefit of viewers tuning in not knowing what to expect and finding great chemistry between the actors. Hallmark fans report the original is a movie they will rewatch multiple times. The sequel has the benefit of viewers coming to watch because of the proven chemistry and success of the original.

Don't Miss This Holiday Movie! Love The Coopers

Don't Miss This Holiday Movie! Love The Coopers
The Storyline of the Movie "Love the Coopers"

Narrated by the family dog, Rags (voiced by Steve Martin), the film takes a whimsical yet insightful perspective, making it stand out among holiday movies.

"Love the Coopers" unfolds during a chaotic Christmas Eve, when four generations of the Cooper family gather to celebrate the holiday.

Each family member brings their own baggage—strained relationships, life struggles, and unspoken truths—which set the stage for both humor and heartfelt moments.

The mood is a balance of lighthearted humor and poignant realism, as it captures the messiness and unpredictability of family life. What struck me most was how authentic the film felt—highlighting both the love and dysfunction that can coexist in any family.

The Cast - An Impressive Ensemble of Actors and Actresses

"Love the Coopers" boasts a stellar cast that brings the story to life:

  • Diane Keaton is Charlotte Cooper, the family matriarch determined to create the perfect Christmas but is questioning her marriage.
  • John Goodman is Sam Cooper, Charlotte's husband, who also questions their relationship after forty years but wants to keep going and trying.
  • Ed Helms as Hank, their son, who is struggling with divorce and unemployment.
  • Olivia Wilde as Eleanor, their daughter, a playwright hiding her loneliness with sarcasm.
  • Alan Arkin as Bucky, Charlotte's father, whose bond with a young waitress (played by Amanda Seyfried) adds a touch of warmth.
  • Marisa Tomei as Emma, Charlotte's quirky sister.
  • Anthony Mackie as Officer Williams, a reserved cop who crosses paths with Emma.
  • June Squibb is Aunt Fishy, the family's elder relative.
  • Timothée Chalamet as Charlie, Hank’s teenage son navigating young love.
  • Jake Lacy is Joe, a soldier who spontaneously connects with Eleanor.

This ensemble cast brilliantly portrays the complexities of their characters, making each storyline engaging and relatable.

Why I Love This Movie

What I love most about "Love the Coopers" is how it delivers a moving holiday message despite the family's apparent dysfunction.

It's not a Hallmark-style movie with a picture-perfect family but rather a story that feels real and grounded. Each character's perspective adds depth, and we begin empathizing with their struggles and triumphs.

The ending truly stayed with me—a beautifully unexpected moment of joy in an unexpected place that brought everyone together and reminded us what the holidays are all about.

A Royal Date for Christmas - Movie Review

A Royal Date for Christmas
I was pleasantly surprised by this Christmas movie.  I liked both of the actors and movie characters.

To start with, Damon Runyan looks like royalty.  He is totally believable playing the part of a European duke.  It was fun to watch his character develop throughout the movie.  At first, we only see his serious side, but as the movie progresses, we find he actually has a rather playful side that he hides from public view.

Danica McKellar is perfect playing the part of a shop owner who knows her customers and provides more personalized service.  She is very kind, lively and spontaneous.  She can easily pick out clothing that suits the needs and preferences of her regular clientele, but doesn't hesitate to embrace the challenge of a new, all business, customer with classic style preferences.

Bella Sparks (Danica McKellar) is exactly what Stefan Brown (Damon Runyan) needs in his life. These two make such a cute couple!

A Royal Date for Christmas Synopsis

A Royal Date for ChristmasCheck PriceAfter a delayed flight in London, Stefan William Francis Brown, the Duke of Tangford, arrives in America without his luggage. On the way to his family's estate, he visits Bella Sparks couture shop to purchase a suit with all of the accessories and a "sleep garment".  He is in a hurry, so he gives Bella his tailor's contact information and requests delivery to Snowy Crest on the outskirts of town.  Of course, Bella has no idea who he is.  She simply knows he is a bit abrupt.

Because of his dispassionate attitude, Bella decides to spice up his life with a "fun" sleep garment.  When the duke sees it, even he has to chuckle.

Stefan returns to Bella Sparks Couture Boutique the following day because his luggage still has not arrived and he needs additional clothing for the week. He ends up making a very unusual request.  Due to his busy schedule, he would like for Bella to act as his personal stylist for his week of luncheons, dinners and meetings.  He also asks her to step in as his "plus one" when needed, "strictly professional, of course".  Coming from anyone else, that "proposition" would sound inappropriate, but his delivery makes it all sound so acceptable, and Bella's business could use the extra funds for a desired expansion.

As they get to know each other, Bella discovers that he is really very nice, simply concerned about protecting his family's reputation publicly and she is happy to help him succeed.

Continuum: A Must-Watch Series About the Future and Time Travel with a Twist

Continuum: A Must-Watch Series About the Future and Time Travel as a Correction

The Plot Line of the Series Continuum

Continuum is an exciting Canadian sci-fi series with four enjoyable seasons and a gripping storyline centered around time travel, corporate greed, and the fight for justice.

The series begins in 2077 when corporations have become governments, controlling society with an iron fist. A group of rebels known as Liber8 is determined to overthrow this corporate-dominated world.

During their escape from captivity, they activate a time travel device and inadvertently bring Kiera Cameron, a police officer from the future, back to the year 2012 with them.

For example, in the 21st century, a rebel group uses this method to evade capture and carry out their mission to change the future. This ingenious approach to time travel creates ethical dilemmas, as the travelers must grapple with the lives they inherit and the consequences of their actions in reshaping history.

Stuck in the past, Kiera must navigate a familiar and strange world while trying to stop Liber8 from altering history in a way that could prevent her own future from ever existing. The show balances action-packed moments, moral dilemmas, and complex character arcs, creating a futuristic and relatable world.

The Top Cast Members

The cast of Continuum is fantastic, bringing depth and emotion to their roles:

  • Rachel Nichols as Kiera Cameron: The protagonist is a law enforcement officer from 2077 who is fiercely loyal to her future but conflicted by the events unfolding in the past.
  • Victor Webster as Carlos Fonnegra: A detective in 2012 who becomes Kiera’s partner and friend, unaware of her true origins.
  • Erik Knudsen as Alec Sadler: A young tech genius in 2012 who becomes Kiera’s ally. Alec’s future self plays a pivotal role in the world Kiera comes from, adding an intriguing layer to the story.
  • Tony Amendola as Edouard Kagame: The leader of Liber8, a revolutionary group with a vision for a different future, though their methods are extreme.
  • Stephen Lobo as Matthew Kellog: A cunning and opportunistic member of Liber8 who often plays both sides to his advantage.

Each actor delivers compelling performances, making their characters feel authentic and multidimensional.

Why I Love This Series

What draws me to Continuum is its fascinating exploration of time travel (my favorite movie topic). The series blends futuristic technology with the challenges of living in a less advanced world, which is thrilling and thought-provoking.

One of the most compelling aspects of the show is watching Kiera use her knowledge of the future to navigate the past while grappling with ethical dilemmas.

The themes of corporate control versus public interest are also incredibly relatable. The struggle between those in power and those fighting for justice mirrors many real-world issues, making the series feel relevant even though it’s rooted in sci-fi. It’s not just about action; it’s about asking big questions—what kind of world do we want to live in, and how do our choices shape the future?

Ultimately, Continuum is more than just a time travel story. It’s an innovative, engaging series that challenges viewers to think about society, morality, and the ripple effects of our decisions. If you’re looking for a show that’s as entertaining as it is creative, I highly recommend trying this one. I loved it.

Damn Yankees Musical Comedy Movie Review

Anyone who knows anything about me knows I am a huge baseball fan, that of all baseball, but most especially the New York Yankees. What you may not know is that, as a teen in the 1950s, I was also a big Broadway musical fan. Living near the upstate New York city of Rochester, the excitement of New York City and Broadway shows was appealing to me. Not being able to go there myself, I followed every musical that opened on Broadway, buying the record album and learning all the words to all the songs.

Image of a Baseball Player Swinging a Bat

Damn Yankees
really appealed to me, from the perspective of both my interests, musicals and baseball. THe play opened on Broadway in 1955. I don’t really remember most of the original actors, except for Ray Walston and Gwen Verdon. And, of course, the music.

The following year, the traveling road show of Damn Yankees came to the Auditorium Theater, a Performing arts theater in Rochester, New York, and my uncle took me to see the play for my birthday. The memory remains a special one for me.

Damn Yankees was made into a movie in 1958, with Ray Walston and Gwen Verdon recreating their Broadway play characters for the movie.  The movie also starred Tab Hunter as young Joe Hardy.

Movie Synopsis

Damn Yankees was a musical comedy based on the book “The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant” (which adapts the Faust theme of a deal with the devil to the world of American baseball in the 1950s. This was a time when the New York Yankees dominated Major League Baseball and the storyline centers on the New York Yankees and the Washington Senators baseball teams.

Joe Boyd is a middle-aged fan of the unsuccessful Washington Senators baseball team. When he sees his team lose once again, he declares he would sell his soul to the devil to see his team beat the Yankees. Of course, the devil appears, disguised as the suave conman, Applegate (Ray Walston). He promises Joe he can restore Joe’s youth and make him a ball player who can win the pennant for the Senators. Joe agrees, but insists on an escape clause - if he leaves the team the day before the last game of the season, he can return to who he was with his wife Meg, instead of having his soul belong to the devil.

Joe becomes young Joe Hardy (Tab Hunter), a talented ball player with tremendous home runs and game-saving catches. Joe leads the Senators on a long winning streak into contention for the pennant. But he misses Meg and keeps sneaking back home to get a glimpse of her.

Applegate gets worried that Joe could leave before the end of the season and ruin his plans, so he tries to entice him away from thoughts of Meg by bringing in his demonic right-hand girl, Lola (Gwen Verdon), a seductress. But Joe loves his wife and Lola fails.

Summary

By the end of the season, the Senators are on the verge of overtaking the Yankees when Applegate tries one more time to ruin everything. Check out the full write up of the plot of Damn Yankees here on Wikipedia

I watched this movie on Friendly TV for free. You can also view it for free on Tubi, or buy the movie on Amazon Prime Video.

*Reviewer’s note:  I had not heard the music to Damn Yankees in more years than I care to admit, yet I was delighted to discover that I still remembered all the words to songs such as Whatever Lola Wants (Lola Gets) and (You Gotta Have) Heart. A fun memory trip back in time.

A Paris Christmas Waltz (2023) Movie Review

A Paris Christmas Waltz
Reminiscent of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, Jen Lilley and Matthew Morrison are a beautiful couple that make ballroom dancing look fun, easy and very romantic.

I assure you, I don't take comparing Lilley and Morrison to Rogers and Astaire, lightly.  For as long as I can remember, I've thought Ginger Rogers was the epitome of grace, beauty and talent.  To say she was captivating would be an understatement.  Plus, she was an extremely talented actress in a variety of movie genres, including comedy.  She is, by far, my all time favorite actress.

Fred Astaire's name is synonymous with dancing.  He was, quite literally, born to dance and he made precision dance look effortless.  Astaire's talent wasn't limited to dance and choreography.  He was a singer, composer, and played several instruments.  His talents, as well as awards and recognition, seem limitless.

As you can see, I greatly admire Rogers and Astaire's talents.  They were consummate entertainers.

As for Lilley and Morrison, they have decades to share their talents with us.  However, I do believe they have already captured the ability to appear to shut out the rest of the world when they are dancing with each other, just like Rogers and Astaire.

A Paris Christmas Waltz - Great American Family Movie

The movie opens with Emma Harris and her best friend, Cece, attending a Christmas Gala performance.  Emma is mesmerized by the beauty of the dance and the powerful performance by Leo Monroe and his dance partner.  When she expresses how she would like to dance like that, her friend immediately knows what she will give her for Christmas, ballroom dance lessons.

When the performance is over, Leo returns to his dressing room to discover an emergency call from a hospital in Paris.  When he is informed that his dance teacher and mentor, Henry Fontaine, needs him, he immediately makes plans to fly to Paris.  He is still in Paris helping with Henry's dance school a year later when Henry shares that he feels well enough to choreograph a new dance for Leo so he can compete in the Paris Yuletide Pro-Am.  Since Leo has severed ties with his previous dance partner, he will need a new partner and decides to audition potential dance partners when he is in New York.  That is where he meets Emma.

Emma's heart is touched when a co-worker is informed that his job is being cut.  Since she is single with no dependents, and he has children, she offers to take the job cut herself to save his job.

After Emma sacrifices her own employment, she has plenty of time on her hands.  Fortunately, she has wisely saved money so it is not imperative that she take a new job immediately.  Therefore, when she is given the opportunity to dance with a renowned professional dancer in a Pro-Am competition in Paris, she is ready and excited to embrace this new adventure.

"A Paris Christmas Waltz" is a really sweet and uplifting movie about two people who sacrifice for others at Christmastime.  The changes to their own lives as a result of those sacrifices are significant, yet those changes lead them to each other and much more than a Christmas waltz.

Moonfall: An Imaginative Movie About The Moon's Dark Secret

Moonfall: An Imaginative Movie About The Moon's Dark Secret

If you're looking for a fun, fictional action movie to get lost in, Moonfall is an ideal choice.

Released in 2022 and available on Prime, this science fiction thriller offers a wildly creative premise: the moon is hollow. Believe it or not, conspiratorial theories support this idea, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the storyline.

The movie takes you on a high-stakes journey with larger-than-life scenarios, impressive visuals, and enough action to keep you glued to the screen.

What the Movie Is About

The plot of  Moonfall revolves around an urgent mission to save Earth as the moon spirals out of orbit, threatening to destroy the planet.

A group of unlikely heroes, including a former astronaut, a conspiracy theorist, and a NASA executive, join forces to uncover the truth about the moon's mysterious nature.

Without giving too much away, the movie takes viewers through wild, almost unexpected twists and turns that lead to a futuristic and unpredictable ending. It's an adrenaline-packed ride from start to finish, with surprises that keep you guessing.

The Cast of Moonfall

The talented cast brings this imaginative story to life:

Halle Berry: Jocinda Fowler, a former NASA astronaut turned executive with a crucial role in saving Earth.

Patrick Wilson: Brian Harper, a disgraced astronaut seeking redemption.

John Bradley: K.C. Houseman, the eccentric conspiracy theorist who believes the moon is hollow. (His character is fun and gives you some laughs)

Charlie Plummer: Sonny Harper, Brian Harper's son, adds a realistic family element to the story.

Donald Sutherland: Holdenfield, a retired NASA official who provides critical insights.

Why I Enjoyed This Movie

I've watched Moonfall several times, especially when I'm in the mood for an out-of-this-world action thriller that's not too gory.

The movie's ability to transport me into a fictional scenario makes it a perfect escape from real-world topics.

While there were a couple of seat-jumping moments, I found them manageable, and they added to the excitement. The imaginative storyline makes Moonfall one of my go-to movies for pure entertainment.

If you're looking for an action-packed sci-fi mystery movie to escape the daily grind of life, I highly recommend this one.

Secondhand Lions, A Must See Movie - 5 Stars!

Secondhand Lions, A Must See Movie - 5 Stars

A MUST-SEE!

Released in 2003, Secondhand Lions is a five-star movie that blends adventure, heart, and humor in a way that few films do.

It's one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves stories about unlikely friendships, family bonds, and a touch of mystery.

Right from the start, this movie pulled me in with its charm, warmth, and unforgettable characters, and it's stayed with me since I first saw it when it was released.

Secondhand Lions is a true cinematic gem, perfectly balancing lighthearted moments with deeply touching scenes.

The Storyline of Secondhand Lions - What the Movie is About

Secondhand Lions tells the story of a young boy named Walter, who is sent to live with his eccentric great-uncles, Hub and Garth, on their quiet Texas farm.

As Walter spends time with his uncles, he becomes captivated by their outrageous tales of adventure, treasure, and far-off lands.

Through these wild stories and his time with Hub and Garth, Walter discovers the true meaning of bravery, loyalty, and family. They build an extraordinary bond and bring something meaningful into each other's lives.

The film keeps you engaged by slowly revealing its secrets, allowing you to discover each twist and turn alongside Walter.

It's a beautifully layered story that feels both rich and timeless.

The Magnificent Cast

The movie's strength owes much to its talented cast. Michael Caine and Robert Duvall portray the quirky uncles, Garth and Hub. They bring a depth and authenticity that makes these characters come alive.

Caine's Garth is warm and open-hearted, while Duvall's Hub has a gruff exterior yet exudes wisdom and a fierce sense of adventure.

Their on-screen chemistry is remarkable, infusing the story with both humor and heart.

Haley Joel Osment plays Walter, delivering a perfect mix of innocence, curiosity, and courage as he explores this strange new life.

Each actor brings a realness to their role, making every interaction feel genuine and impactful.

Why I Loved This Movie

What makes Secondhand Lions unforgettable for me is its focus on characters and relationships, which feels incredibly authentic.

The movie draws you into Walter's growing connection with his uncles, and it's easy to lose yourself in their journey together.

The ending is especially poignant and rounds out the story in a satisfying and heartfelt way. The acting is first-rate; each performance feels sincere, and that level of commitment is rare.

Few movies make a lasting impression, but Secondhand Lions is one of those rare finds. I've always remembered it, and since first watching it in the early 2000s, I often think about the story and its beautiful, lasting messages.

If you love quirky, character-driven movies, you will surely love Secondhand Lions.

Autumn at Apple Hill - Hallmark Movie Review

Autumn at Apple Hill

In true Hallmark style, Autumn at Apple Hill is a sweet story that takes place in a beautiful setting with an adorable couple that fall in love.  Even though the plot is predictable, the movie is fun to watch.

This movie reminds us how things change in spite of us longing to hold on to the past.  Familiar stores that we grew up shopping in, close down for a variety of reasons or change ownership and are no longer the same even if they carry the same name.  Businesses like restaurants, recreation areas, and locally owned motels are shuttered.  In some cases, our old high school buildings are left vacate as students and classrooms are moved to a new location.  Friends move away and others pass away.  It is the normal cycle of life.

The yearning for things to stay the same often battles our own desires to move on and embrace the new, updated or improved.  But, as long as we have our minds, we have our memories of the beauty in the past.  The things we took for granted are the things we now appreciate.  When given the opportunity to recapture a part of a cherished memory, we latch on to that treasure.

That is what this movie was about to me.  Restoring the beauty of the past so the next generation has the opportunity to make their own memories there, while we sit back to enjoy just being there.

Autumn at Apple Hill Synopsis

Autumn at Apple HillCheck Price After her grandparents die, Elise purchases the Inn at Apple Hill, which was their home and business for her entire life.  She wanted to ensure the magic of the place was maintained.  Unfortunately, it costs a lot of money to keep up the required practical maintenance of an inn, especially with previously deferred things like a roof that leaks, kitchen equipment that has stopped working, and electrical wiring that has already exceeded it's life expectancy.  She needs a loan from the bank to make repairs, but the bank will not give her a loan until she can show a 15% gross profit.  She can't make that kind of profit when she can't rent out all of the rooms because they need repairs.

In New York, Luke is being forced to take a vacation by the CEO of his employer, who happens to be his mother.  He decides he will spend this mandatory vacation in his home town of Apple Hill, where he can visit with old friends and even stay in a very special place, Inn at Apple Hill.  When he arrives in Apple Hill, he is distressed to see places closed down, including his childhood favorite arcade.  He is temporarily relieved to find the Inn at Apple Hill is still open, but once he starts experiencing their new reality, he is not happy with the new owner.

Sparks of anger fly between Elise and Luke, but those sparks change to a different type as the two start creatively working together to save the Inn at Apple Hill.

A Fabulous Character Driven Movie - Elsewhere, 5 Stars

A Fabulous Character Driven Movie - Elsewhere, 5 Stars

The Storyline – What "Elsewhere" is About

"Elsewhere" is a touching and thoughtful film about Bruno (Aden Young), a man devastated by the sudden loss of his wife.

As he struggles to come to terms with her passing, he faces an unexpected dilemma—his late wife's family is trying to force him out of the beautiful home they once shared.

Desperate to hold on to the place that holds so many memories, Bruno concocts a plan to secretly stay in the house. While doing so, he navigates life's hardships, meets new people, and redefines what it means to move forward when it feels like everything is slipping away.

The plot is driven by Bruno's internal battles, and you find yourself rooting for him as he wrestles with grief and the inevitable changes that follow.

It's heartfelt and emotional and keeps you invested in his journey.

The Excellent Cast

The performances in "Elsewhere" really make the story shine.

Aden Young brings a quiet intensity to Bruno, portraying a man who is both deeply wounded by his loss and stubbornly holding on to hope.

Parker Posey plays Marie, a quirky and energetic woman who befriends Bruno, offering a refreshing contrast to his solemn demeanor. Their chemistry feels natural and believable, adding a layer of warmth to the story.

Ken Jeong, known for his comedic roles, steps into a more serious character here, and he does it convincingly. His role adds some much-needed lightness without taking away from the movie's emotional depth.

Beau Bridges and Jacki Weaver play supporting roles that add complexity to the story, each bringing emotional weight to the film.

Overall, the cast feels like real people, which makes the story even more engaging.

Why I Loved This Movie

What truly touched me about "Elsewhere" is the depth of its characters and how it deals with real-life issues like loss, letting go, and the need to heal.

Bruno's journey of grief and self-discovery felt authentic and moving, making you think about how we all cope with life's unexpected turns.

I'm always drawn to character-driven movies, and "Elsewhere" nailed it with its focus on personal struggles rather than over-the-top drama. Watching Bruno face his challenges and come out stronger in the end was inspiring.

The beautiful coastal setting also plays a huge role in the film—it almost feels like a character itself. The serene landscapes and calm surroundings create a sense of peace, making it easy to understand Bruno's heartache.

Every time the camera lingers on the countryside, you feel a sense of relaxation that adds to the film's emotional depth.

I give this one a five-star rating. Again, this one is for you if you enjoy character-driven movies featuring challenging life issues mixed with hope and growth.

Haunted Wedding (2024) - Hallmark Movie Review

haunted wedding
Few couples would want their wedding to be haunted by a real ghost.  Even if the bride and groom didn't mind, I doubt there would be very many people who would want to attend a haunted wedding.  But, leave it to Hallmark to find a way to make a haunted wedding a romantic event.

With Halloween approaching, I wanted to find a movie that fit with the season, but I had no desire to be scared witless.  When I discovered Hallmark had just released "Haunted Wedding", I trusted it would be a pleasant "haunting".

The ghost was beautiful, yet threatening, but nothing was really scary about this movie.  Howling wind, flickering lights, thunder, and lightening was the extent of what most could see.  However, the bride and groom, who happened to be paranormal enthusiasts, could actually see and hear the ghost.  They were quickly drawn into her story and set out on a quest to help her before their own wedding.

I was not the least bit disappointed in Haunted Wedding!  It was a very enjoyable way to get into the "spirit" of Halloween.  There will be no nightmares as a result of this movie.

Synopsis of Haunted Wedding

Jana Atwell is a high school teacher and Brian Fuller is an antique dealer in Philadelphia.  Not exactly professions that would instantly make you think of paranormal investigators, but both embraced "spooky" and hoped they would find proof that there are real ghosts.

While ghost hunting in an abandoned sanitarium for the criminally insane, Brian chose to ask Jana to marry him.  This did not seem to be an unusual location for a proposal since the couple had met at PolterCon.

Of course, Jana accepted the proposal.  It seemed only fitting that she would immediately start planning their wedding to take place at Keystone Manor, a renowned haunted hotel.

The Keystone Manor is haunted by a real ghost, Angelique DeMornay, who died of a broken heart in the 1700's.  She was only 26 years old when she died in her sleep.  One of the bedrooms upstairs was her bedroom in life, and is still maintained for her.  It is off limits to guests and kept as close to the original as possible.

Angelique was engaged to Revolutionary war hero, Lieutenant Malcolm Buchanan, who was killed by British soldiers on his way to get married.  They had planned to elope on Oct 13, which happens to be Jana & Brian's wedding date.  One more thing the two couples have in common, Brian looks exactly like Malcolm.

Jana is the first person who has ever been able to hear or see the ghost of Angelique.  When Brian enters the room, he can see Angelique too, but she believes he is Malcolm.  When she is told of their plans to marry in a few days,  she declares no one is to wed in her home ever.

My favorite line in the movie was spoken by Brian when he proposed.  He said:  "I've spent my life seeking out lost souls and in the process, I found my soul mate".

In spite of the ghosts, the spooky setting and the sadness associated with lives and love cut short, this was a very romantic movie with a really sweet ending.  Romantics at heart will not want to miss this Hallmark movie!

Hallmark Christmas movies

A few of the most anticipated 2024 Hallmark Christmas movies are:

Three Wiser Men And A Boy

They are back! One of the best Hallmark Christmas movies is back with a sequel featuring the original cast:  Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes and Paul Campbell. Reunited this trio takes on parenting with a now growing up baby (Boy) and all the antics and love that resonates.

Holiday Touchdown A Chief's Love Story

The title tells all in this highly anticipated Hallmark Christmas movie which premieres November 30th. Tyler Hynes, Hunter King and Ed Begley Jr. star with Donna Kelce, Jenna Bush Hagar as supporting cast adding a touch of realism to the movie.

Vying for fan of the year is King with Hynes the marketing brains and fan evaluator as the finalists weave their way to the goal of Fan Of The Year. Filmed in Missouri, speculation is high trying to predict who from the Chiefs may pop up in the movie...

Unwrapping Christmas

New four part Christmas series which airs November 7, 14, 21, 28.

A Christmas Quest

It is not Hallmark Christmas without Lacey Chabert. This year Lacey stars with Kristoffer Polaha in this holiday story featuring mystery, adventure, Iceland and treasure of the Yule Lads, premieres December 1. Filmed in Iceland.. enjoy!

A few favorites from seasons gone by to look for in the 2024 Season.

A Merry Scottish Christmas 2023

The number one movie of 2023 at Hallmark1 Party of Five fans showed up for this movie and the movie/reunion did not disappoint. Lacey Chabert and Scott Wolf play siblings on a family trip to Scotland during the holidays. Family reunions and family mysteries are in the air. Filmed in Ireland and Scotland and the Duns Castle Estate is featured in a movie full of gorgeous landscapes and castles.

Never Been Chris'd 2023

The A team Hallmark actor Tyler Hynes leads reunion as hometown friends reunite for Christmas Hallmark love triangle, the Hallmark way. As always  Hynes brings humor, wit and a few winks to this holiday movie.

Three Wise Men And A Baby 2022

By far, the best Hallmark Christmas movie of 2022 was Three Wise Men and A Baby with Andrew Walker, Tyler Hynes and Paul Campbell (who also co wrote the movie.) Sure, the storyline may sound a bit familiar from the original movie, but this movie will bring smiles for the second time with a cast of Hallmark A team actors and their chemistry.

A Cozy Christmas Inn

Jodie Sweetin (Full House) and David O'Donnell take on Alaska, Christmas, old loves reuniting and B and B's all in one charming Hallmark movie. If you love Hallmark then you can surmise the storyline and great to see O'Donnell back. He was in Christmas Under Wraps with Candace Cameron Bure, also in Alaska!

Haul Out The Holly And Haul Out The Holly: Lit Up  Sequel 2022

Hallmarkies loved the first Haul Out The Holly and continues the love with the sequel. The characters continue to battle their inner Grinch with the annual HOA decorating competition and all that entails for the winning homeowner to win the coveted award.

It's a sequel, it is cute, it is Christmas, it is Hallmark and we love it. Lacey Chabert  and Wes Brown reprise their roles in this cute sequel which continues the charm of the first move. The  cast which proved its' chemistry already in the first movie also continues which contributes to the comfortable feel of the characters.
