Slim Wallet with RFID Reviewed

Slim Wallet with RFID Reviewed

Many years ago, I discovered the convenience of carrying a wallet in my pocket instead of a purse.  I've always hated the "bulge" created by a wallet, but fashion can't always be the priority in life for most of us.

In my teen and young adult years, I always carried a purse.  During those years, it never really occurred to me that there was an alternative.  Handbags were not only a normal accessory for females, they were often a fashion statement.  I enjoyed selecting and changing my purse to match my shoes.  Without really meaning to, I had quite a collection of purses in my closet.  However, motherhood changed all of that for me and the "practical" replaced my business pumps and purses.

I quickly found out that trying to balance a baby on my hip, a diaper bag and a purse, was simply overwhelming for me.  I had to reduce my daily "luggage" and I certainly was not going to leave my child behind.  Therefore, the purse had to go!

Because I had to have my drivers license, I opted for a small wallet that I could carry in my pants pocket.  I hated leaving behind my wallet of photos, but that sacrifice had to be made.  I remember it really was an adjustment for me at the time.

My children are adults now, but I have never returned to carrying a purse.  In fact, my wallets have been streamlined and the hated wallet bulge has disappeared.

My Slim Wallet

Slim Wallet RFID Front Pocket Wallet Minimalist Secure Thin Credit Card Holder (Waterproof Grey)Check PriceAfter a few decades of carrying a thin wallet that resembles a pocket with a flap, I recently changed to a slim wallet.  You wouldn't even notice that I was carrying this flat wallet in my back pocket unless you were intentionally looking.  When we went hiking recently, I actually carried it in the upper pocket of my vest and could barely see the outline of the wallet.  Again, I doubt most people would even have noticed it.

I admit, I have had to get used to having an "open" wallet, but I definitely prefer the flat construction.

This slim wallet has built-in RFID blocking material which allowed me to eliminate one card I was carrying in my wallet.  There are 6 card slots and a front clear ID window for my driver's license.  The top loading pocket is perfect for folded dollar bills.

These slim wallets come in a variety of colors.  While I don't think it is necessary to match my wallet to my shoes, it would be possible if I wanted to just for fun!

  1. This would be so handy for joggers, walkers & bikers who need to carry ID and perhaps a bit of cash or a credit card, but want something small & lightweight. A Slim Wallet would be perfect.

  2. Since I don’t drive and have to rely on long commutes on buses and subways for my medical and other appointments in the city, a purse is a must-have for me (for Kleenex, keys, cough drops, a nail file, a pen, my phone, etc.). But I have switched to lightweight nylon purses to reduce the weight on my shoulders and back (bye-bye, stylish leather handbags of my youth, lol!) Just last week, I replaced my wallet with a lighter weight one with RFID-blocking. (Great minds, right?) :) I’ve been wanting to do that for a while. Having the RFID blocking feature gives me more peace of mind, especially knowing that we will be traveling soon and going through multiple airports, making us more vulnerable to ID theft. Thanks for a great review of a very useful item!

    1. At this point in my life, I don't think I could tolerate the weight of a purse on my shoulders and back, Margaret. I can certainly understand needing a purse for medicine and definitely when traveling.

  3. I never thought of using a wallet like this, and saw it for men really. Where do you put change? Getting rid of my large purse was on my list so I purchased a small one. The problem now is that I end up carrying both of them for hubby's meds sometimes. This would be so great if I can get used to not carting around all that stuff! LOL

    1. Hey Fay, there isn't a place for coins in the wallet. Since I am carrying it in a pocket, I just drop my change in the pocket too (just like a man). I can definitely see though that needing to carry medicine would require a purse.

  4. My youngest son uses one like this. I'm still doing the purse thing, but I've downsized my purse, so that's a good step. The RFID part is essential. If I was traveling like Margaret in public all the time, I'd absolutely want the RFID feature.

  5. Cynthia, I NEED this! I've carried a "wallet" for years. A little Vera Bradley credit card holder. But they no longer carry the specific style I want. So I've stalled. My poor raggedy wallet is an embarrassment to my friend - who no longer stands close to me at the checkout because my wallet is so frayed! haha. But I couldn't find a different one I liked. I think these will be perfect for me!

  6. Oh I do hate bulky wallets, so this is very timely for me indeed. i am just about to purchase something that will make my daily life easier and this sounds like it would be the "thing" for me. Thank you for a timely review that will make my daily life easier!

  7. This is exactly the right type of wallet for me. I rarely carry a purse and have been using the sling, cross-body type of small pouch for carrying my essentials. I do want the RFID protection, since I've already had someone steal one of my credit card numbers. Thanks for reviewing such a handy item. I can put this to use!
