  1. Yea!!! Finally opening day, I'm hoping my Pirates will be on their with for the 2016 season with a big win. My dad would never miss a Pirate game, if it wasn't on TV then he had the radio glued to his ear. Such fond memories :)

  2. We're looking forward to baseball season, too! My husband follows the Pirates (he's from where Sam's from) so we'll see how that goes this year (so close last year!). I'm looking forward to some minor league games from the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, who happen to be a farm team for the championship Royals! Can't wait!

  3. Aha, Sam and Susan state they are fans of the Pirates. Well, it just so happens that they are playing their first game tomorrow against MY St. Louis Cardinals. Sorry guys, I have to cheer for the Redbirds! :)

  4. I get a great deal of vicarious enjoyment from your passion for baseball. Our family has always followed the Minnesota Twins. I believe the Colorado Rockies open against San Diego. Hope your team brings you many hours of winning entertainment this season.

  5. What a very exciting day today, and the next few days, will be for Baseball fans! It really does seem like spring and summer are here once the baseball games begin. Need to run to the grocery store for chips and hot dogs immediately! I am late getting to this article (a day late) so only a few hours today before the first pitch is thrown to start the 2016 baseball season!

    1. Oh! And, I meant to ask you: Do you remember the Baskin Robbins ice cream flavor, Baseball Nut? It was one of my favorites when I was a teenager!!!

  6. Ah, Mouse -- hot dogs and chips for lunch would be the perfect way to watch the first game of the new baseball season today! Excellent idea. And, no, I don't recall a Baskin Robbins ice cream flavor called 'Baseball Nut', but it sounds delicious --- and appropriate.

    1. Just looked it up and Baskin Robbins STILL carries the Baseball Nut flavor. What fun. Will have to check it out at my local store.

  7. Ah...baseball...there is nothing like baseball to make you feel summer is close behind. I have just enjoyed a month of spring training and although my team the Cardinals did not look too good....it was only spring training and I enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the game. On to the regular season and hopefully a good one for the Cards! Thanks for you fine review Elf!
