Blessings for Thanksgiving~ From the Heart ~ A Reflection

 As we are moving to the end of the year faster than a speeding train, my thoughts and reflections seem to have taken a turn inwards.

Thanksgiving is just a day away and there is so much to be thankful for!

Here are just a few things that we should all be thankful for:

• Family!  Yes even when they drive you crazy, you know that they are the ones that you can count on when you need an ear to listen, hands to help, and a loving response when times are troubled.
• Friends! Sometimes friends are the family that we wish for and they will do everything in their powers to help you too!
• Home!  It's that special place where you hang up your hat and coat, shake off the troubles of the day and relax.
• Work!!  Sometimes we might not be thankful for this, but. really. we do like to be productive and accomplish things.  It helps us put clothes on our backs and food in our stomachs.
• Children, they are the reason we do so many things!  They make us laugh and cry, puff out our chests in pride and sometimes challenge us.
• Food!  So many sweet and savory dishes to tickle our palates.  

These are just a few things that we could focus on during our celebrations and I'm sure there are many many more!  I just focused on the immediate family, but we should also focus and our surroundings as well.

We are blessed to live in a country that gives us our freedom to do what our hearts desire.  We can travel, see things from around the world and experience many different customs and traditions.  We can speak our minds and dialogue with others even when we don't agree.  We can appreciate our differences and celebrate them!  

We are all different and yet we are all part of the human family.  How wonderful is that?

This Thanksgiving, let's all make it our goal to appreciate the wonderful things we have in this life and celebrate each other in our similarities and our differences.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported the Review This Blog over the past year.  We, the writers of Review This, truly appreciate you and wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving Day.

My Photography

One of the things I am very thankful for is my hobby of photography, so today I thought I would share with you some of the photographs I have taken over the past year.

This photo was taken at my backyard birdbath where a Robin stopped for a drink on a cool November morning.  Birds are one of my favorite things to photograph.

Here us a hummingbird that I photographed at a feeder in my backyard.

I love to visit local parks and photograph all of the beautiful wildflowers that are growing there.

The photo above was taken at a local park where I went for an outing.  The colorful boats on the shoreline caught my eye.

The bandstand in the photo below stands in Forest Park in St. Louis where I took my granddaughters to see a musical at the Muny Opera.

Sometimes I only need to go into my own yard to capture the beauty in nature.  The raindrops on these Pink Primrose make a pretty photo.

 Sunflowers are always a favorite photograph of mine.  I visited a local sunflower field several times this summer.

I will leave you with several fall photos from my neighborhood.  Fall is my favorite time of the year.

Christmas morning has arrived and before all the hustle and bustle begins, I would love for you to take just a moment for you!

Close your eyes, and remember the first time you held your baby.  If you don't have children, the first time you felt that spark of love.

Hold that feeling in your heart for the day and really, really enjoy those around you!

May your Christmas be Blessed, by the Child Jesus in whose name we celebrate Family, Friends and the love we should have for all of our human family.
