I love to read. You could even say I am passionate about reading. As soon as I finish one book, I start another. I purchase books by the dozen just to make sure I am never without a book. Hmm, sounds a bit like an addiction even.
As an avid reader, I am always looking for a good book. Over the years, I have become more selective about what I will read. Just because it makes the bestsellers' list does not mean it will make my list. I do not care to read books that are sexually explicit or depict graphic violence. I see enough of that on the nightly news. While I do not read Christian Fiction exclusively, I do tend to prefer the books in that genre.
My Personal Review of The Yukon Quest Trilogy
When I read the trilogy, "Yukon Quest" by Tracie Peterson. I found it intriguing; at times, perhaps even riveting. The stories are about the trials and hardships faced by three women trying to survive in Alaska during the gold rush. Surrounded by greed, lust, cruelty, deception and lies, these women are each challenged to maintain and defend their decency and faith.
I enjoyed the historical aspects as well as the romantic aspects of each of these books. I am captivated by the beauty and awe of Alaska and I would love to visit that breathtaking state. However, I would not desire to visit under the conditions of the 1800's.
One word of advice, you will not want to finish book 1 until you have book 2 in you possession.

ReplyDeleteWhile Christian fiction is not a genre I actively seek out, I have never been steered wrong by any of your book reviews and we share a love of historical fiction. So, I’m sure I would enjoy this trilogy. Thanks so much for your review and recommendation!
ReplyDeleteThis triology you have reviewed sounds really interesting, especially from the historical aspect. I am currently reading a book based in Alaska and can't imagine living in such harse conditions. Thanks for your recommendations, Sylvestermouse.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a very interesting trilogy. Thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fantastic series to dive into. It's great to be drawn to books that do have a series, because I can image that reaching the end of the book you love is a bit of a let down that it's over - but now there's another book! I know I would feel this way - I sure do with good movies.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound interesting. It is amazing what women, and people in general have overcome, over the ages.
