I have several wraps and blankets that have been given to me over the years because everyone in our family knows how I tend to stay cold. I was surprised when my daughter sent me another blanket wrap for my birthday this year, but as the weather has turned cold, it has quickly become my favorite.
This wrap shawl is so lightweight that I can walk around with it around my shoulders without feeling weighted down by a heavy blanket, but it is still very warm. It is the softest wrap I have ever owned. It has buttons if I wish to button it closed, which is a huge positive and something unique to this specific shawl.
It also has two large pockets which is really awesome! I frequently drop my cell phone in my pocket so I can keep it with me.
The shawl is on single flat piece that will stretch across the back of a couch like a throw blanket. I especially like this feature because I don't need to hang this shawl in a closet for storage.
The Fleece Wrap Shawl with Buttons & Pockets
There are several attributes of this wrap shawl that I love. Because it can lay flat, as shown in my picture above, it doubles as a lap blanket. It is long enough that I can wrap it around my shoulders, cover my chest and the top of my legs when sitting down.
Since it is a flat piece and not a jacket with sleeves, it can be folded flat and smooth for storage during the summer months if desired.
As I mentioned in the introduction, I especially like being able to button it if I want to walk to the mailbox or open the front door to visitors. That coverage keeps me warm without having to put on a coat.
The pockets provide warmth for my hands as well as a place to carry my cell phone.

Now THAT is a practical, as well as being an attractive, wrap. I also have several wraps and lap blankets, probably one in each room where I might need a little extra warmth as I, too, feel the cold. But this one ~ a wrap shawl or wearable blanket ~ looks to be ideal for taking (wearing) room to room. Perfect for these chilly, late Fall into winter days for all sorts of reasons. Like you mention, getting the mail, answering the door, even letting the dog in or out. And the added benefits of buttons and pockets. You have a very thoughtful daughter, Mouse. :)
ReplyDeleteShe is very thoughtful, thank you Elf! I thought the buttons were an ingenious addition to wrap shawls. And yes, you are quite right, I am already wearing it when I open the back door for Merlin :)
DeleteThis sounds wonderful and a perfect gift for someone on my Christmas list. I'm ordering it right now. Thanks or the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mary Beth! It really is a great gift, especially for someone who lives with polar bears (my cold loving family members) like I do.
DeleteEarlier this year I ordered a very soft fleece (wearable blanket that I love since, like you, I tend to get cold easily. I love mine, but I can definitely see the advantages of yours that has buttons and can be laid flat along the back of a couch. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI love clothing like this in the colder months, soft, warm, cosy and pockets!! It is also great and very useful that it can double as a blanket and be draped laid flat over the couch. I think it would make an ideal gift. Thank you for your recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI'm always cold so this would be a wonderful addition for me. Like you pockets are a must have. Well on my Christmas wish list this handy wrap will go. My kids are always wondering what to get for me. So now I can help them out! Thanks for this review!
ReplyDeleteOk that's seriously cool - a wrap and a blanket - and the pockets too - what a wonderful idea - looks nice over the sofa as well - it's typical of me to give someone blankets or sweaters during the holidays - oh no, here's another one!
