National Nut Day Review

We celebrate National Nut Day each year on October 22. This is NOT a story about squirrels, or about your nutty neighbor. It is a food holiday about a healthy and nutritious snack.

How Did This Holiday Begin?

National Nut Day was begun in 2015 by the UK-based Liberation Foods Company, a collective of small nut farmers around the world.  The company started this holiday as a way to encourage a healthy eating lifestyle.

Benefits of Nuts

Many kinds of nuts have been proven beneficial. Almonds, pecans and walnuts are at the top of the list of healthiest nuts you can eat.  Check out this link for the various benefits of almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, peanuts, hazelnuts, Brazil nuts, and pecans. It is nice to know that something that tastes so good, and comes in so many varieties, is also good FOR you.
