Soon the leaves will turn beautiful colors and fall from the trees. That means Halloween will be here soon. Halloween is always a big deal at our house.
We always have plenty of food and snacks for anyone who stops by, and sometimes we do get a crowd. Every year, Fran makes this Pumpkin cheese ball, and it's always a hit with everyone.
This Cheese Ball is easy to make and perfect with crackers, cheese, and pepperoni. Don't worry, the spiders are plastic, just a little added Halloween decoration.
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces of cream cheese, softened.
- 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped.
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin.
- 1/2 cup chunky salsa
- 2 cups of Doritos, crushed into crumbs.
- 1 green bell pepper stem, for the top.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese. cheddar cheese, onion, salsa, and cumin. Mix well until it's creamy.
- Scoop the mixture into plastic wrap and shape it into a pumpkin-like ball. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- When you are ready to serve, roll the ball in the crushed Doritos until it's coated. Now, place the bell pepper stem on top.

Fran's Pumpkin Cheese Ball is really awesome and the spiders add just the right "yikes" touch for a Halloween get-together or party. I love the idea of using a green bell pepper stem on the top. I am sure the recipe is delicious too!
ReplyDeleteVery clever to make a Halloween themed cheese ball for any party or get-together this time of year. The only cheese balls I have ever seen were at New Year's Eve parties. This Halloween cheese ball definitely expands my library of food ideas for special occasions with friends. Thanks for expanding my menu plans, Sam!
ReplyDeletePS: The spiders are a cute touch! LOL.
Sam, this sounds and looks delicious. A tempting autumn party tray, and the spider decoration adds the perfect touch for Halloween!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a tasty recipe, Sam. Thanks for sharing it. It sounds fun rolling the cheese ball into the crushed Doritos!
ReplyDeleteSam that would be an absolute hit in our house. What a wonderful item for the Halloween season - that Halloween tray would be ideal on Halloween night (kind of help us to stay out of the chocolate and candy lol)
