There is something comforting about the aroma of freshly-baked bread in the kitchen. Now imagine the same scent, but with melted cheddar cheese and fresh herbs.
We love freshly-baked bread in the fall, and I like to try different ingredients. I found a recipe for this cheddar cheese bread and decided to make some additions to it with the herbs.

Cheddar Cheese and Herb Bread Reviewed |
This Cheddar Cheese and Herb Bread is baked to a golden brown, flavorful loaf that's perfect for soups, sandwiches, or just enjoyed with a pat of butter. I love it best lightly toasted with butter.
Cheddar Cheese and Herb Bread Recipe:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sugar, and Italian seasoning or fresh herbs.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar and set aside.
- In another bowl, mix together milk, egg, and butter.
- Combine the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix. I used my KitchenAid Stand Mixer for this on low speed for about 2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a 9-inch x 5-inch greased bread pan.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.
There is nothing like a slice of fresh homemade bread still warm from the oven. Your clever cheddar cheese and herb bread sounds marvelous, Sam. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
