Everyone has been waiting for summer so patiently and now it is here. In the last two days we have had almost 100 degrees F through the day and that is a lot of warmth!
Adults know how to handle the heat (while complaining loudly), but when it comes to the littlest of our families, we are somewhat stymied as how to help them keep their cool.
Well, if you know someone who is expecting a little one this summer I have a great gift idea for you! Little Bum Coolers are here! We have lots of laws in place to keep our babies safe while in the car, but no one ever mentions the heat! Most cars have air conditioning but does it reach the back seat where baby's car seat is located? Driver and passenger are comfortable, but the back seat is sometimes less so.
Babies only know how to cry when they are uncomfortable, so if taking your little one out becomes a crying fest, maybe there is something that is bothering them.
Now I know how hot those car seats can get when you've been out shopping and the car is sitting in a sunny spot getting baked. Touch that car seat and you know what I'm talking about. Many malls don't have covered or shaded areas in which to park, so you are left with an interior car temperature that can cook an egg! Not fun for anyone. This is where the Little Bum Coolers come into play! Take the Little Bum Coolers out and place it into the car seat after you have your little one out!
Baby car seats get really hot! The buckles can burn your child's skin. With Little Bum Coolers you can keep your child car seat cool and the buckles as well. The Ice Packs will keep the seat cool and the buckles from becoming a burn hazard! When coming back to the car, open up the windows and let all that standing heat out, then if you can, start your car to get that air conditioning going. Take your Little Bum Coolers off of the car seat, add your child to the cool seat and off you go!
Now everyone is cool and comfortable with no HOT SEATS for anyone.
These Ice Pack Cooling Pads are great for long trips in the car. Shaped to fit the car seats, these Pads work the same way that ice packs work for sore muscles, bruises and sprains. You refrigerate or freeze these ice packs until you are ready to use them and then you put them inside the car seat before baby gets on board.
Just a word of advice, bring along an insulated bag with frozen gel packs inside, so that when baby comes out of the cool car seat, you can place the Ice packs inside the insulated bag. If you don't put them inside an insulated bag they will become warm too. In the insulated bag the Little Bum Coolers will will remain cool and useful for the drive back home again.
This is a great gift idea and something that not everyone will think of. I'm sure it will be a welcome addition to anyone who has that summer baby!
These Little Bum Coolers fit all car seats so it's useful for toddlers too!
Happy Summer and Stay Cool!
I had never heard of anything like this before reading your post. What a clever and much-needed invention!
ReplyDeleteIt was a thought that I had years ago and never followed up on. But with the heat we are having I think they are a great idea!
DeleteVery clever indeed. I never thought about baby car seats getting hot. Obviously, someone did and invented these Little Bum Coolers. Now maybe we need one sized for adults.... LOL. I wouldn't have minded one today myself getting into my car in a parking lot in 97F degrees! :>
ReplyDeleteI can remember my own little ones in the summer and those buckles on the car seats get really hot. I wanted to make something like these back then but never followed up.....missed opportunity!
DeleteWhat a great idea! I remember my babies being way too hot in the car seat. Even with air conditioning in the car, their little backs would sweat in those car seats. Having them cool first would surely be a wonderful improvement.
ReplyDeleteI agree especially with the summer weather we have been getting lately!
DeleteThis product to keep babies and young children cool in the heat sounds like a fantastic idea! Cars can get very hot , even with air con and especially when they have been parked without shade. With the heat we have been getting here recently I wish there was one for adults too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic idea. I’ve not heard of them before. True the car seat heats up, and this is an easy safety solution.
