As we both know from personal experience, Barb, losing a beloved family member, friend, or job, getting a devastating health diagnosis, living in poverty and despair, addiction, the outbreak of war, and many other circumstances can make the winter holidays that many others celebrate a time of pain and sorrow, especially in contrast to the merrymaking and festive celebrations of others who are not so afflicted. ReplyDeleteThis time of year can be such a happy time for some, full of love and laughter, gifts and treasured moments and memories and equally for some it can be very lonely, dealing with loss, poverty, grief, illness and difficult times.
