Photographing Children

Photographing children is a fun and sometimes challenging activity.  My granddaughters are used to me always having my camera around and when they are in the  mood they enjoy posing for me.  I like to catch them during their everyday moments, but sometimes it is fun to have them pose for me too. I have found if I take a few photos of them clowning around first, it will loosen them up and I can then get a few more serious photos.  Last year I got them playing around on their back deck and then encouraged a more posed photo.  Here are the results.

  2. I do enjoy taking fun photos of our family and I definitely remember the challenge of getting a good photo with several children. They tire so quickly if we try to get them to pose. I believe you were very wise to start with snap shots of them just having fun. Your granddaughters are beautiful!

  3. I love to photograph children just being children. Your photos are excellent examples of that. I remember how nervous it made me to pose when others were watching (when I was a child). I try to keep that in mind when using a camera with young ones. You have a lovely family.

  5. I so enjoy you sharing photos of your grand girls, the fun pictures as well as the posed. Most photos during my childhood were posed so with my son I tried to capture images of him doing things and those are the ones I cherish most. Great tips from you and the other Squidoo writers on photographing children, thank you.
