National Creativity Day Holiday Review

National Creativity Day (May 30) is set aside to celebrate all creative endeavors.

This includes artists, writers, musicians, bloggers, photographers, or any of 100 other creative pursuits.

 Examples of creativity

National Creativity Day

THis holiday was founded in 2018 by Hal Croasmun and ScreenwritingU because they wanted a way to celebrate the  imaginative spirit in everyone and encourage them to keep creating.

Those with abilities in the musical or artistic fields are already compelled to pursue that creativity daily. Others enjoy working on their favorite hobby, whether it be in the field of fiber arts, writing anything from a poem to a blog to a book, using a camera to capture images that interest them, or using their culinary skills to make a unique, personal creation.

Ideas to Celebrate Creativity

One special way to celebrate this creative holiday is to revive a dream project you may have long had. Use the day to finally start that novel or song or art piece you always wanted to do.

Another way to celebrate the day is by supporting local artists. Visit their studios and perhaps purchase their art. Or simply share the work of creators you admire.

Summary

Everyone has some type of talent in a creative arena, whether they have discovered it yet or not. If not, then National Creativity Day is the day to begin by starting a new project, trying a new hobby, or just supporting artists you admire in their respective fields.

  1. I feel like I celebrate creativity everyday so, of course, I embrace National Creativity Day and love the idea of starting a new project or finishing one today as a way to celebrate this specific date.

  3. I believe we are all creative, even though we don’t always realize our own creativity. Sadly, the creativity we were born with can be suppressed by authority figures as we grow up and are taught to conform to rules and regulations, even though I don’t think those two things have to be incompatible. I love the idea of a holiday encouraging us to celebrate creative endeavors, both our own and those of others!

    1. You are right, Margaret. I used to think that Ihad no creative talent surrounded by a family of musicians and singers and wonderful artists (none of which I could do). Until someone pointed out that my crochet crafting was my creative talent. :) Nice to have a holiday that celebrates everyone's creativiness.

  4. Well this is a national day near and dear to my heart! And I did partake, I wrote another song! What a wonderful way to celebrate creativity. For me next to love, creativity is what makes the world go ‘round, and builds it.
