Some people just can't get enough of the great outdoors; they can't resist those outdoor activities. Hiking a mountain trail, riding a bike trail, fishing in a lake or stream, canoeing, and boating.
Whatever your pleasure is, the great outdoors offers it all. Some people like to take on some of these activities while camping. Other people, like myself, just like to relax enjoy the surroundings, cook up some great food, and meet new friends.
Camping is such a wonderful family activity. When our kids were growing up our family along with friends rented cottages on a small lake just south of Lake Erie in Western Pennsylvania.Cool Camping Gift Ideas:
This Landmann Firepit was my Father's Day gift many years ago. Now in the spring, summer, and fall, we enjoy our backyard campfires.
Although many people here in Western New York like their backyard campfires all year long, I pull the plug when it starts to snow.
Landmann fire pits are made with sturdy steel construction and come with a poker and cooking grate.

We did a lot of camping when our kids were young, so I can relate, Sam. It was so much fun. And my brother-in-law introduced me to Mountain Pies one summer on a combined family camping trip. I had never heard of them before. They were fun to cook and delicious to eat sitting outside at the picnic table in our camping area. What fun memories.
ReplyDeleteWell you learn something new everyday and today I have been introduced to Mountain Pies. I have never heard of these before. My son and DIL have just bought a cottage, so this would be a great idea for them I think. Fire Pit and Mountain Pies, cottage life and the great outdoors, it can't get better than that. Thanks Sam Monaco.
ReplyDeleteBoth these gifts sound like wonderful, practical gifts for any camping enthusiast, things that will be used and enjoyed frequently, and each time a reminder of the thoughtfulness of the gift giver!
ReplyDeleteAh ha! I've been saying for many years now that my idea of camping is a small cabin by a lake or my own backyard. I really do prefer sleeping in my own bed, but I do love the great outdoors. My husband has a firepit that he lights every day during cold weather. He sits next to it, drinks his coffee and reads until the fire dies out. On occasion, a family member will join him, but normally it is his personal quite time. I love the cast iron square iron you have featured. They would make a great gift for my husband (and for me!)
ReplyDeleteOh I do love that firepit. I wouldn't want one in our small yard though because of the amount of trees we have - but several relatives have firepits and they are such a cozy addition to a larger yard. And wow, those pie irons are pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely loved the gift suggestions. My daughter camps a lot with her kids. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI loved camping when I was a child. We used to go off on family adventures with us and the dogs. I have such lovely memories of those times.
