Lighthouses

Travel Destination
I really enjoy traveling and sharing my travel with others through my photography. Calendars are a great way to share places you have visited. Here is one I made after our visit to Quebec City in Canada. It is such a great place to visit and the old town was a great place to capture some unique photographs.

Covered Bridges

In our travels another subject that caught our interest was covered bridges. These bridges are becoming a thing of America's past, but there are still many scattered around the country that give you a wonderful feeling of days gone by. I have read that bridges were first built covered so that the horses that traveled over the bridges would not be scared by the rivers below. Mary Beth, I have always loved your beautiful photographs and know any one of your subjects would make lovely calendars. I especially love your factual tidbit about why bridges of the past were made covered. Keeping horses from being scared walking over a river never occurred to be. How interesting. ReplyDeleteI would never be able to keep up with appointments and schedules without a calendar, especially a calendar where the blocks are large enough to make several notes. I love specialty calendars with one theme like your birds, lighthouses or bridges. I am sure we all have a favorite, but as for me, I would choose the birds. Your photography has always been beautiful and inspirational. Calendars are a lovely way to share your photos!

ReplyDeleteYour Bluebird calendar is beautiful. I have such a soft spot for covered bridges as well. I don't know why, but they speak to me. My first introduction to covered bridges, was the movie "Bridges Over Madison Country" with Meryl Streep. There is something about that movie, and covered bridges that connects deeply to my soul. Love the covered bridge photo you featured!
