There are many clever artisans who create Woodland animals hand-cut from a variety of woods for children's play. Other crafters create them as wall hangings, some especially sweet for a baby's nursery or a child's room. Others create wooden animal puzzles.
Some are finished in natural wood, many of which are considered 'Waldorf Toy Animals'. Others are hand-painted. All are special because they are lovingly handmade.

What a wonderful gift these would make for a child. Fun to play with and as you said would help promote brain development and small motor skills. Hopefully, they would also encourage a love of nature and an appreciation of craft skills.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jasmine, these wooden forest animals certainly can help children learn to appreciate nature. I can see them especially helping city kids who seldom get to enjoy time in the woods learn about all these different animals who live there.
DeleteI love all of the forest animals, but I am especially fond of the puzzles! When my children were little, they had a set of hand-carved wood animal puzzles that they loved. Because I am surrounded by animal lovers, I see a world of gift options in this one article. Thanks for the great suggestions!

DeleteOh these are all so pretty! I think I\m going back to being a child again as I would enjoy these wooden animals at any time. There is something very therapeutic in handling items that are natural and well shaped. Maybe I just need some more grandkids so I can spoil them a little. What do you think?
