Reviewing the Aire One Floor Fan

Aire One Floor Fan
Aire One 12 inch Floor High Velocity Fan
With summer and its subsequent hot weather now upon us, our thoughts turn to things that keep us cool.  Naturally, this includes fans.

Most people have home air conditioning for sizzling summertime  heat. But there are days when the temperatures are mild, the air conditioning isn't needed, and the windows can be open. On those days, a fan is often all that is needed for a bit of air circulation and to keep us comfortable.

There are box fans and floor fans and desk size fans. There are many styles and sizes of fans to fit your need. Today I want to discuss the high velocity floor fan I just bought for my living room.

Pedestal Fans

I have a tall oscillating pedestal fan that I like to keep near the window in my bedroom. It's perfect on low for those Springtime, early summer and early Fall nights where the air conditioning is not needed and the bedroom windows can be open.  My pedestal fan is tall enough to provide air circulation over my bed and keeps the bedroom comfortable for sleeping.  For several years I have been carrying this pedestal fan into the living room on evenings when the air is warm and stuffy and a bit of circulating is needed. Then I'd carry it back to the bedroom for sleeping. Recently it suddenly occurred to me that there is a solution to all this carrying back-and-forth – buy another fan!

I went looking for a smaller fan to place opposite my living room sofa where I usually sit evenings to watch TV and crochet. It didn't need to be a pedestal fan (which wouldn't really fit in the place I planned to put it) and it didn't need to be oscillating.  My requirements included size, price and stability.  I found all three in the Aire One High Velocity Floor Fan.

The Aire One floor fan has all metal construction and includes three 12 inch aluminum blades. While it is not a fancy fan with built in timer or remote control, and does not oscillate, it does have an adjustable 360 Degree tilt range for custom air direction,  and three speeds which put out plenty of air for your comfort.  It sits in a triangular base, which keeps it from tipping over even if you accidentally bumped it.  It is also whisper quiet, even on high, and does not drown out the sound on my television.  And it is an attractive little fan with a powder coated black finish.

On a recent visit, my son liked it so much that he bought one to take home to use in their bedroom.

After looking at a variety of fans in different styles and sizes, I am very pleased with my choice of this 12 inch Aire One High Velocity Floor Fan.  I purchased mine from Ace Hardware, but similar fans are also available at Home Depot and Lowes. I also found a nice selection on eBay

  1. As I was reading this very helpful review, I was hoping you'd address the noise level - and you did! So glad that this is a quiet fan. It sounds like a winner, a great fan to have in any home since sometimes a fan really is all you need!

    1. A QUIET fan was one of my requirements, Susan, since I have it placed on the same wall (and near to) my TV and I didn't want noise to drown out the sound on the television. :-) Thanks for stopping by my review today!

    2. I'm actually looking for a noisy far that will help drown out the sounds of power equipment my and other neighborhood gardeners use and the sound of the TV in the other room. Fans can make wonderful white noise as they cool. Since I got my box fan in my bedroom, I don't have to use my white noise machine as much.

  2. I don't have this brand, but I have a similar high velocity fan. I depend on it. Mine is not very quiet... but it moves HUGE amounts of air and keeps the dogs and I cool ...and better yet, it lets me use less AC.

    1. I agree that using a fan can help use less AC, Dawn. I'd rather have my windows open all the time, but with the Georgia heat & humidity that's not often possible. But I can keep the AC from coming on as often with fan to keep me comfortable.

  3. I have a floor fan sitting about 12 feet from me right now and I would have sworn it was the very fan you have reviewed. I actually got up to look at the brand name on the front and found it is a different manufacturer name. Still, the fans could be twins except mine is silver. We keep ours in the garage for my husband to use when he is working out there, but we had to bring our floor fan in a few weeks ago because we have a sick puppy. She needs the air blowing on her. She is getting overheated laying on the carpeting and the AC doesn't cool the floor well enough. It has made a huge difference in how well she is able to rest, and she needs her rest to get well. It really is a great fan design and well worth the cost.

    1. I've probably seen the very fan you are talking about, Mouse. Glad it has helped keep the puppy cool and hope she gets to feeling better soon. :)

  4. Funny you should mention fans. We spent our 53rd anniversary last Tuesday at Lowes to buy fans. Our air conditioning had been broken for several days and we weren't sleeping. We bought two fans, and it really helped. We got our air conditioning repaired Thursday, but we don't need to run it as much now since buying the fans. Neither was like this one, but I'll see if it will fit here in my office. I often want to work here when my husband is using the only fan that will fit here in the living room. I was going to buy another one like that, but was not looking forward to assembling it. What I get has to fit in a fairly small space about two yards from where I sit. I appreciate your review.

  5. Just the review I need. Next week, we'll be back in Canada and with temperature rising we'll need more fans in the cottage.

  6. We have a floor fan very similar to this one. Also have a pedestal fan. We put an air conditioner in a back bedroom and use the floor fan to pull the cool air into our living room and kitchen, this keeps the house cool. There are days that we don't use the air conditioning and just use the fans. Thanks Great review!!

    1. Sam, yours is the perfect solution for cooling your home when you live in an area that doesn't have summertime temperatures that soar into the 90s and 100 with high humidity. I grew up not far from you and summers were much nicer, temperature-wise, than we get here in the South! I'd prefer having my windows open and just use fans. I really dislike AC. :) Thanks for your visit to my fan review.

  7. thanks Pat for this great review. I think that even with air conditioning going, fans help to move and circulate the air so it feels cooler. We have a fan going at all times when it's warm and we are heating and when it's cool and the air needs to be moved around. When I need a new fan, I will certainly see if I can find one like this. I appreciate your review.

    1. You bring up a good point, Olivia. Running a fan when the heat is on also helps keep the air moving. Fans are good solo with the windows open, to circulate AC and to move heated air around. Thanks for your visit.

  8. Sounds like a good choice. Every single person in our family sleeps with a fan in their room, and have to fall asleep with the sound of the fan - since they've been babies I've used a fan to lull them to sleep and now as young men, they still have to sleep that way! My husband and I are the same as well, we have to have the fan running every night, and the noisier the better, lol.

  9. What a great review of such a helpful item! Fans are great for white noise and to help the electricity bill since you can use the a/c less. Of course I don't have that problem where I live, but if I move back to Texas I would so good to know which fan is good. Thanks!
