My mil had one, too. My own mixer was a more specialized brand that I loved for making bread, but it was wearing out. I have to hold the bowl in place now -- not good. Now that I'm here, I've been very happy with the Kitchen Aid, even though it doesn't hold quite as much as my first mixer. Alas, we hardly eat bread anymore now, BarbRadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15899642277679265680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1874262419752354657.post-61644657039912089292017-01-23T19:26:09.380-06:002017-01-23T19:26:09.380-06:00My mixer broke and I wanted a Kitchenaid mixer to ...My mixer broke and I wanted a Kitchenaid mixer to replace my old one. I had bought two of these for my children who were in the process of starting their own households. Alas, I never bought one for myself. Well that changed and I'm so glad my old one bit the dust, so I could have a machine like this one. My kids (the ones who got theirs as gifts) use theirs extensively, so I know they Olivia Morris https://www.blogger.com/profile/00711607646097689874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1874262419752354657.post-25049550945670607662017-01-23T19:21:57.347-06:002017-01-23T19:21:57.347-06:00It only mixes/kneads the bread. Several times I have considered purchasing a Artisan Kitchenaid mixer, but simply haven't parted with the money to do so yet. In my case, I have a stand mixer, so I would be replacing an existing appliance. My stand mixer is great for a lot of things, but not kneading bread. I think you will love it for baking bread and everything else too. I love not having to knead the bread! And it whips cream in less than a minute. Very useful. Hope you are able to get one soon!
