The legacy aspect of that appeals greatly to me. Every living, growing thing you thoughtfully care for becomes your inner garden, too. Thanks for introducing me to a new plant in a way that makes me more "green." I love growing alongside you and admire the way you care for everything in your home and garden... in your Renaissance Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04042573630039646414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1874262419752354657.post-19596637335845610842022-07-29T20:07:00.378-05:002022-07-29T20:07:00.378-05:00I learned a lot here about the asparagus fern. Sometimes it is rather strange how plants have come to be named! Each plant has its own likes and differences and i think its important to know so that we can provide the best conditions for them. Each variety of houseplant does have its own requirements but a good rule is to always check the soil with your finger, if it is still damp best not to water. It’s interesting that it isn’t actually a fern at all but a member of the lily family. Spider mites killed our gorgeous, previously thriving potted hibiscus many years ago, when I didn’t know what we were dealing with until it was too late. You have some beautiful houseplants Raintree Annie and I really appreciate you sharing your care information for those plants. As I read your posts, I am guessing that I have always over-watered my houseplants, which would explain why I only have 3 types that have lived for me.Sylvestermousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13690700963857028874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1874262419752354657.post-34965950322558883442022-07-26T05:54:47.807-05:002022-07-26T05:54:47.807-05:00I've never heard of the Asparagus Fern until n...I've never heard of the Asparagus Fern until now. Interesting that a plant as feathery and delicate looking as this one would have thorns. I enjoyed reading about its background and the care & feeding.

BTW, living on the other side of the 'pond' from you, in a Fahrenheit world, I had to look up your 40 degrees (which would be COLD in F, but I see is VERY hot in C.
