That time of year is coming upon us very quickly now. You know the one holiday that everyone has been gearing up for since the beginning of the month. No, it's not Thanksgiving, although that is just a day away! Rather it's the holiday that features good Ole St. Nick, eight tiny reindeers, singing carols by candlelight and sharing our love for one another! Christmas is just a month away!
This is a gift and application review, to help make Christmas a little brighter for everyone!

If PJ's aren't your thing, think in terms of Christmas sweaters or
sweatshirts. Some of these are very nice and other's fit into that
"UGLY Christmas Sweater" category. The choices are up to you and the
fun is for everyone. Getting everyone organized is the
key.
Call or email your family members and get a consensus of what everyone
would like to do, and then plan and execute the idea in a timely
fashion. Like right after everyone has had their
Turkey!
Orders should be in before too long so that everyone who is participating
can be ready for their Christmas debut flaunting their own special
outfits.
When everyone is all decked out, make sure you take the time to get a good
family picture and share it with your whole extended family where ever they
may be. Holiday times are the best and sharing pictures from year to
year will make those memories even better.
I love the idea of being in my Pajamas, relaxed and cozy, while all the
grandkids and other "bigger" kids are having a blast as well. It's
nice to be able to sit back and enjoy the fun and the smiles that are sure
to be a part of this great holiday time.
While we are called to take care of everyone, by staying within our family
"bubble" safely, don't let Christmas pass you by without reaching out with
every method possible to be with our loved ones.
Good suggestion for virtually 'getting together' with family this holiday season, Olivia. We've done the Zoom calls a couple times this year for birthdays and a drive-by high school graduation, so it's easy enough to set up for Christmas this year. A different year for sure, but one where 'connections' are especially important. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteZoom has been a blessing to so many people and even with the lock downs and extra care we need to take, there is still time for some fun. Different doesn't necessarily have to be "bad".
DeleteYes, Zoom will be a big part of our holidays this year too and we will do our best to recreate the normal festivities although we will be in various homes. We have celebrated for many years with matching outfits, sweatshirts, or pajamas. Each year is something different (whatever Mom wants!) Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWell, Mom is the boss no argument there and I think Zoom will be many people's way of seeing and greeting lots of their friends this year.
DeleteLike many, the pajama matching thing was mandatory for the kids. I used to love shopping for those Christmas Morning jammies. I miss that. You're making me want to get some for them as bigger boys now - I think they'd humor me and wear them?
ReplyDeleteYou could go for the Red Union Suits.... that would be a hoot especially with the grown men in your family. Just wait one day you will be doing this for the grands.....so much fun to be had in your pj's.
DeleteBrilliant idea, Olivia, to make a firm but safe plan for Christmas 2020 -- even if it is via Zoom.
ReplyDeleteWe, too, have used Zoom to visit with my in-laws, and it meant a lot to us all to be able to enjoy at least a virtual get-together for Thanksgiving. It truly has been a blessing to be able to see each other as well as hear and talk to each other, thanks to Zoom. A phone call just isn't the same as being able to see your loved ones, especially during the holidays. I love holiday traditions, like giving everyone themed gifts or matching pajamas. I still miss my parents a lot during the holidays, as well as the large, festive family gatherings we used to have, now that my sister-and brother-in-law spend the holidays with my nephew in California, and my brother lives in a different part of California. But I'm incredibly grateful to have had so many wonderful Christmases with my family over the years, and so many memories to cherish. Wishing you and yours a most joyous holiday season!
ReplyDeleteLovely ideas about how to make the most of this Christmas time even if we are apart from family and friends. Tech like Zoom has been very helpful to many families to be able to keep in touch and I love your ideas for Zoom time over Christmas! Also have to say Love Christmas PJs!! :)
ReplyDeleteYou have some great ideas here. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!
